I am a creative facilitator, playwright, and performer, originally from East Yorkshire.
I am passionate about community arts and work in Sheffield as a creative workshop facilitator. I work primarily with children and vulnerable adults, using a combination of drama, art & creative writing in my workshops. I am an Associate Artist with Purple Patch Arts in Leeds and with Grimm & Co in Rotherham, and a Creative Learning Deliverer with Museums Sheffield. I also work one-on-one in schools with looked-after children as a Creative Mentor, through Virtual School Rotherham, helping my mentees with their own individual creative projects.
Alongside this, I write and perform my own work, when I can. I make plays about strange spaces, which include elements of magical realism. Although they are usually quite dark, they are always funny too and nearly always set in Yorkshire. I completed a Masters in Playwriting at The University of Birmingham and my writing has been performed at a number of different venues, including the RSC’s Other Place, Theatre Delicatessen, The Alphabetti, and DINA. If you’d like to know more about my work and what I do, feel free to drop me a line.
“UNION has encouraged me to stop and question my intentions for a project, and think about the long-term implications as well as the different stages of planning which need to go into it. I have felt supported and encouraged, and connected to a network of cities and people spanning beyond myself.”
