Linda Devo (she/her/they/them)
Blackpool, Lancs
Linda Devo is a multi-disciplinary cultural producer, artist, DJ, teacher, and activist of African, Caribbean, and English heritage. She thrives on working within communities and collaborating with fellow practitioners, channelling her energy into productive and meaningful projects. With 15 years of experience in education, she specialises in supporting neurodiverse students and those with challenging lives and complex backgrounds that impact their behaviour and mental health.
Recently relocating to North West England, Linda is currently creating a multi-skills workshop and studio. She teaches 1:1 and small group sessions, most recently in partnership with the LeftCoast Sunken House community garden project, Skool of Street, and Old Electric Community Arts. Through these collaborations, she shares her skills, knowledge, and experience to benefit the community.
As a DJ, Linda performs solo as Devolicious and as part of Booty Bass DJ, a Black-led female/non-binary, queer DJ crew. They energise festival and event dance floors with diaspora-inspired music, creating empowering spaces for women, embracing diverse cultures, and ensuring a safe and positive environment for all.
Linda is also the co-founder of the award-winning KiKi Bristol, a volunteer-led collective that creates safe social events for the QTIPoC community.
In her personal life, Linda is in her 35th year of practising Nichiren Buddhism, enjoying the grounded clarity and vision that comes with middle age. She is delighted to be part of UNION 24 at this crucial point of fresh departure.
