Esther Amis-Hughes approached UNION earlier this year about creating an exhibition about activism in Leeds for the City Museum. UNION Leeds participants worked with her to co-curate “People Power” with a particular focus on the creative ways that people in the city have tried to effect change, everything from the knitted jumpers of Lesbian Line, to turfing a residential street, to the red rebel performances of the climate change movement in recent years.
