What we do now: Dumfries
24 Sep 22UNION works across the North of England but is also connected across the UK and Europe (see our Fellowship of Questions programme). In Scotland we are linking with The Stove Network in Dumfries and were very pleased to be involved in their conference “What we do now” in September 2022.
It was a well designed and well attended two days of activity looking at their work in Creative Placemaking as part of the Culture Collective work funded by Creative Scotland. The Stove define Creative Placemaking as a community led approach that uses creative activity to support collective decision-making and positive change for people and the places they live.
Adrian Sinclair from UNION was invited to present on the theme of People and Power on one of the digital events in the run-up to the conference (on this link or watch the youtube video below) and also to attend on the day as a ‘provocateur’ around the same theme.
Lots of learning and reflection (and post-it notes) and it will be really interesting to see how we develop the links with the Stove and across the Culture Collective going forward, particularly around the theme of developing new and federated approaches to training and professional development for those involved with creative placemaking.
